COVID-19 Precautions

coronavirus

As with most businesses, we are continually monitoring updates from the Ministry of Health to respond accordingly.

specific to our Practice

Please note, the safety and wellbeing of our patients, staff, family and community are our utmost priority. We want to inform you of the following changes we will be implementing in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Visiting our rooms

As a practice, we come into contact with many patients each day, some of which are the elderly and the at-risk population group. We have a huge responsibility to help keep people safe so we are following the government’s requirements on social distancing.

We request your help to keep our team and patients safe and indirectly, our family and community with the following simple precautions:-

  • Please advise us and postpone your appointment if you are feeling unwell in any way.

  • Please inform us if you are confirmed to have COVID-19 or are suspected of, awaiting results and we will make special arrangements through video conference.

We understand your frustration, especially if you have waited long for your appointment so we assure you, we will be making special arrangements to see you as soon as your quarantine period is over. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Good hand hygiene and mask wearing

  • We have always had very thorough cleaning and hygiene processes in our practice.

  • To ensure we are doing as much as we can, we have put into place more cleaning and sanitising procedures for our rooms.

  • We have hand sanitiser readily available for our patients which we highly encourage the use of on arrival and leaving our practice.

  • We are following the Ministry of Health's guidelines around hand hygiene and mask wearing.

Practises may differ depending on current COVID-19 alert levels

Telehealth/Virtual clinics

We endeavour to keep our services through all alert levels, running our clinics in a safe manner through the availability of Telehealth using video conferencing with Zoom or FaceTime, or a simple phone call.  We accept there are some limitations through such modalities.

change in Interaction at rooms

  • Apologies in advance but we may be practicing social distancing of 2 metres and limiting physical contact as much as possible in the way of handshakes and examinations as appropriate.

  • Please do not be offended and please be understanding that our standard practice may differ. This is to protect everyone (our staff and patients) as we interact with a number of you, our patients.

  • We will spread out our appointments to ensure there are no crowds in our waiting room but unfortunately this will mean we are not seeing as many patients in a day.

  • You may be ask to wait in your car until it is suitable to come in to maintain social distancing within our rooms.

  • Please come into clinic on your own to decrease numbers and only a single parent or guardian to accompany a minor.

  • Hand hygiene will be ensured between patients amongst staff.

  • Telehealth consult with a video call or phone call may be organised where appropriate.

Thank you very much for your kind consideration.
